I've got a Rhode Gear hitch mount bike rack. Notice in the pic below that nothing comes near the paint on the car.
We've also got the Atlantic Design Touring bags from PBC which really helps with luggage space. (These bags are now available from Miata Mania (Moss Motors)). This set includes two nice sized pieces of water-resistant luggage that strap to the trunk lid. We've used these a lot, and I'm impressed. No scratches or damage to the car, they stay dry inside through heavy rains, and they seem to hold up well with the minor exception of some fading of the straps versus the main bag fabric. They're about $200 for the set, but I would buy them again.
Note: The fading shown above is greatly exaggerated by the light from the camera flash. It's just barely noticeable in real life.
Vent rings:
The teeth and the vent rings were both ordered from Dan Pedroza at MRoad. Great place to deal with.
